Croda Inc., Booth 507, is focused on feel at New York Suppliers’ Day. The company has rolled out Crodamol SFX, a multifunctional replacement for volatile silicone, such as cyclomethicone D5. Since it is non-volatile, Crodamol SFX has a more substantive feel on skin. It also acts as a detackifier of lanolin, petrolatum and polyisobutene. In addition, Croda’s SenSelect technology enables formulators to work with a variety of emollients to improve the feel of a formulation. Using SenSelect, the formulation remains the same, while the emollient is switched. Test samples are evaluated for various properties including rub out, application and drying. These are then evaluated quantitatively on a numerical scale developed to rate each property, as it compares to a library of benchmarks of commonly used products and ingredients.
